To Market We Go | $%!# Just Got Real
Juggling
One of my friends uses the phrase, “I’ve got a lot of balls in the air”, when she is particularly busy. I kind of related to her when she’d mention this, but now this phrase really resonates with me.
Back when I was in my twenties, my biggest concern was if I could squeeze in a nap after a day of teaching before I headed to the gym for a spin class. (Remember those days, Alisa?!) That day is long behind me.
Then I moved on to married life and soon after became a mama. My new concerns became:
- How do I keep this new little creature alive?
- Did I shower or at least brush my teeth today?
Said creature is now 6 and we brought another beauty into the world 4 years ago, so that all worked out. But showering and teeth brushing usually didn’t happen.
Scary Noises
Now instead of a newborn’s cry striking fear in my heart, the ding of a new email coming in gives me a startle. And I totally get what Kim means when she says, “I’ve got a lot of balls in the air.” And boy do I!
Knock, Knock
My goal was to always head back to work when our girls were in school. Opportunity came knocking on my door a little faster than I had anticipated. But, I decided to open the door anyway and that’s when $%!# got real!
I have several balls in the air and I’m doing my darndest to keep them up there, which is no easy task.
I’m the CEO of the household, making sure my 3 charges are well fed, clean, healthy and functioning human beings in society.
I’m continuing to handle the digital marketing for Erik’s business.
And now that I’ve officially started my own business, I have clients and deadlines and responsibilities! Oh my!
Thankful
But I am so happy to have all of these opportunities. My family is my pride and joy and they give me daily love and support. And I’m fortunate that my girls get to see both their parents as role models working hard for the family.
